I recently took a trip to South Carolina. I drove the twelve hour trip taking my time to enjoy the beautiful landscapes and the majestic mountains. It wasn’t my first trip. I used to take my children down every summer to spend time with their cousins. But, I haven’t been in several years. This trip was a special occasion, a family wedding. The music tracks as I drove went from pop music to christian to country. Rolling in with Johnny Cash and June Carter singing, “Jackson”. A favorite of mine and my daughters. It was a beautiful drive both there and home. I didn’t mind the one way roads on I-40 in Tennessee and North Carolina. It is humbling to see the devastation and the mountainous repairs that seem to be impossible to overcome. God’s grace and the resilience of the people of North Carolina keep them going. Down there, men always hold the door open for a woman. The politeness and compliments were always there from the service workers. Shout out to “Kody”! The fragrant magnolia trees, and azaleas were in full bloom. The lush mountain landscapes were breath taking. The wedding was full of reverence, love and laughter. Family members I haven’t seen in a while. It was a trip full of love and all kinds of beautiful landscapes. God is blessing us right now!
