The first tiles I created were given as gifts on a mission trip with my church to Lakeshore, Mississippi to rebuild after hurricane Katrina. I gifted three tiles on that trip. Two of the tiles were to the homeowners whose homes I worked on grouting tile. They shared their personal stories with me. I gifted the third tile to the pastor of our church. It was a poem about God’s journey for us. A life token. I then gifted two small group leaders ( a husband and wife team), each a personalized tile. Each personalized to something they said, or that touched my life. I then gifted a young lady I met during the mission trip a tile for her wedding. Now, I don’t gift or dedicate them. It’s sad. I meant them as gifts. But others spun their own stories and perceptions. So now I inspire others with my poetry and tell about my journey with God.
